Salo for Ukrainians is not a product… it’s something more!
This product is a tradition of Ukrainian village, Ukrainian cuisine.
Salo as a national dish stands next to such “cards” of Ukrainian cuisine as Ukrainian borsch, varenyky or holubcy .Salo is a unique dish that most people eat it like fat, and Ukrainians eat large chunks, often with bread, garlic and vegetables, such as tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and Ukrainian alcohol ^__^
It’s the perfect snack and aperitif.
Salo can be cooked differently: salty, boiled, smoked, fried, dried, seasoning herbs, pepper or paprika.
The second version is salted pickled lard, or even immersed in chocolate.
Have you ever tried that?
No? Well, then welcome to the cooking classes!
